I won my last dh race and always been on podium since my 2nd race which is last year. I race in master class and I manage to stay consistent. The people here got money is in masters class. funny ya, it's true so they the one who always spend lots of money on latest equipment and bikes. I'm happened to be just in the right place and right time I guess. I also try to be nice to everyone and helpful in any ways, that actually what makes me more interesting to the local distributor. I sold 5 bikes this week and manage to get half of my team to ride specialized. My team always on podium too. So in a way I help them in marketing and try to get as much media coverage as I can. One of my local TV station did a profile of me during oakley race last year. I was explaining all the parts for downhill bikes with my demo. That video is run for a year this year. Specialized git free 5 minutes advertising from me. So I came up to them and show all the results I got and the video... also the owner happpened to be my friend too (I know lucky bastard haahhaa) so I asked him weather he;s interested in me as a rider and a marketing tool. I was lucky he said yes and I got 2 years with them. Bikes aren't free I get them in VIP discount (can't tell you how much) all the winning prices are mine also the thropy. I can sell the bike end of the year and get a new one at very low price. That way I still make money end of the year. not bad I guess for an old bone hahahhaa.... cheers man

I got sponsored so I sold the old one and get the 08 instead. I'll get the 09 demo 8 end of this year. I thought I give the demo 7 a try and see how it feels. the demo 7 got lower BB and stand over height also steeper head angle around 1 degree and shorter wheelbase. I figure that might help me to go faster in most of the track here where most of them are twisty and lack of high speed section. I'll post the complete build tomorrow. just finished moving all the parts from the old demo 8. cheers

Answer: I like the high speed abilities and cornering of the Bike. The geometry is a good compromise between fast and nimble and stable at high speed.

The VPP also works very well in steep, rought & rocky stuff.

The downsides are a low BB so you smash your pedals too often on rocks.

The pivot bolts came loose quickly so look at thems at on regular basis. That's not funny to wash your bike in the parking lot from 1 to 6pm when you have no more beer and your friends are still riding!

I clean dirt in the bearings once a while so they seems to last longer. I have a play after a race season (this summer), but I'm almost sure it came from my rear hub.

DU bushings from the rear shock last around 6 days before developing a slop. That's quite annoying but!
